Joshua 1:9 NIV

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NIV84)

What does it mean to be commanded?
- To be directed in an authoritative manner.

When does one issue a command?
- When they are able to overlook from a strategic position.

Why is a command issued?
- To dominate the situation from an elevated place.

Who is authorized to command you?
- When receiving one's due.

God directs us with authority because he has a strategic view, that allows him to dominate the situation from an elevated place. We should obey because it is his due, his love and sacrifice qualifies him above all others.
